About UKSRC

Since 1920 the Indian Red Cross Society has been working with the Indians by rendering humanitarian services through it’s 700 branches spread all over the country by providing relief in times of emergencies and promotes health & care services to the vulnerable communities, and building their skill and knowledge on disaster management. It is a leading member of the largest independent humanitarian organisation in the world, the International Red Cross & Red Crescent Movement.

The Indian Red Cross Society, Uttarakhand State Branch has been rendering humanitarian services to the people of Uttarakhand since 2002. The IRCS was established in 1920 through an Act of the Parliament, the bill passed on 17th March, 1920 and became Act XV of 1920 with the consent of the Governor General on 20th March, 1920 and established on 13th May, 2002. All its humanitarian activities are based on the four core areas i.e Disaster Response, Disaster Preparedness, Health & Care in the community and Promotion of Humanitarian Values & Fundamental Principles. Binding by seven Fundamental Principles i.e. Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity and Universality the Indian Red Cross Society, Uttarakhand State Branch has promoted mutual understanding, friendship, cooperation and lasting peace amongst all people.

The mission of the Indian Red Cross is to inspire, encourage and initiate at all times all forms of humanitarian activities so that human suffering can be minimised and even prevented and thus contribute to create more congenial climate for peace and development.

Our Mission

The Mission of the Indian Red Cross Society Uttarakhand State Branch is to prevent and alleviate suffering with complete impartiality, making no discrimination as to nationality, race, sex, religious beliefs, language, class or political opinions.

To be a leading humanitarian organisation in India, improving the lives of vulnerable people through services delivered and promotion of humanitarian laws.

To promote the Fundamental Principles of the Movement and the International Humanitarian Law in order to inculcate humanitarian ideals among the population, and in particular among children and youth.
